Cuddle Gradiation Edge Shadows

The Polish company Coccolare is still largely unknown in Germany. I am always happy to get to know new sling companies and so it was great that I got the opportunity to test a sling from Coccolare.

Information about the cloth and the manufacturer

The Polish manufacturer Coccolare was founded when the parents of two daughters were looking for ideal baby slings and could not find them.

The sling Gradiation Bordo Ombre shows a color gradient from a dark Bordeaux tone, getting lighter and lighter and is almost old pink at the top edge. Who likes the colors, has herewith a simple, but not boring sling.

The sling in size 6 is priced at 312 Polish zloty, which is about 73€. Thus, it belongs to low-priced slings. The sling is still available through Coccolare 's store, as well as other colors of the Gradiation series.

With a basis weight of 260g/m², the sling is in the medium to higher range. However, it feels quite firm and stiff, which is certainly due to the fact that my test cloth has hardly been tied so far. For a newborn, it would probably be too thick for me, but more on that in a moment. The sling, like all of the manufacturer's slings, was woven in the diamond weave. The cotton material is generally easy to care for and sturdy.

When wearing

I first tested the sling from Coccolare with my son. Tightening was not easy due to the thickness and strength, but in return nothing slipped. I think that the sling after multiple tying still becomes significantly softer. Due to the strength, however, it supported very well, so that I felt the weight of my 3-year-old son only very little on the shoulders. I tied the Double Hammock with him, among other things, but single-layer tying methods are also possible with this sling.

Tying was much more difficult with the small demo dolls. There was a relatively large amount of sling material piled up in the back of the doll's knees in the wrap-around cross-carry and tightening was more difficult because of the firmness, especially with the low weight of about 3kg.

I would therefore recommend the sling only limited for small babies. If the sling has been worn and tied a lot, it is certainly softer, so tying would then be easier with smaller children.

Washing

According to the manufacturer, the sling can be machine washed at 40 degrees. I have not washed it because it is a test sling.

Conclusion

The sling has a good price-performance ratio, I could not see any weaving defects. However, I find the Gradiation Bordo Ombre sling quite tight when new, so I have limited recommendation for smaller babies and for sling beginners.
