Rosamar Falling Stars

As part of a test trip, I was allowed to test the hand-woven ring sling Falling Stars from Rosamar. I would like to report on my experiences with this sling here.

Overview of the Ring-Sling

Information about the sling and the manufacturer

I tried to find information about Rosamar as the manufacturer on both the Facebook page and the website. However, this was very difficult as the information was only available in Polish. I had some things translated, but found very little overall. I would wish that here, for example, the website is made clearer and also an English version is available.

The Rosamar brand was founded by Dominika Kafeman in Poland. She has worked very extensively with the different yarns, weaves and weaving as a process and found a passion in it. However, there are currently no products available in the store on the website.

I was unable to find out what the Falling Stars ring sling from Rosamar cost new. Thus, I can not judge the price-performance ratio. However, since it is a hand-woven sling, I suspect a rather higher price.

The colors of different shades of blue and turquoise, as well as yellow, some white and black, I find very coherent and remind me of a beach vacation or just as the name suggests, falling stars. The cloth is very thick, but not stiff, which is typical for hand-woven fabrics. The bamboo content makes it look sturdy at the same time. I could imagine that sorting is made more difficult by the thickness though, but more on that later. The edges are not sewn around, which is also normal for handwoven cloth. The ring sling ends in twisted fringe.

Wearing

The sling was tested by me with the little demo dolls and my 3 year old son. In preparation for wearing it was already a bit difficult to pull and sort the thick fabric through the ring. This I had already suspected before. So it took a relatively long time until I could really wear. The tightening, on the other hand, succeeded better than I would have expected. The fabric hardly overlapped when tightening, so that this then did not take excessively long.

In the test with the demo dolls, I found that I had to pull very tightly until I had tightened the fabric sufficiently. In addition, relatively much fabric jammed here in the back of the knee, so I would not use the sling with a newborn. When wearing it with my son, the tightening went much better and I was amazed at how much the fabric actually supported. Despite the one-sided load, I felt relatively little of his weight on my shoulder. Probably both the thickness and the material blend(blend) with bamboo contributed to this.

Washing

Since it was a tester, I did not wash it. According to the manufacturer, it can be washed at 30 degrees on the gentle cycle. However, I would probably want to hand wash it more.

Conclusion

The Falling Stars ring sling from Rosamar is a real lover' s item. Due to the thickness of the fabric, I would only recommend it to experienced babywearing parents, as it makes sorting much more difficult. I also find it only very limited suitable for small babies. For larger and heavier children, however, he is very comfortable, lies comfortably on the shoulder and supports well. Qualitatively, it is very high quality. I could not see any weaving errors or other defects in the cloth. It would be nice, as already described above, if the information were also available in English, so that international customers can also find their way.
