Woven Bliss Whispering Wings

I was allowed to test the sling Whispering Wings in size 5 for the Polish manufacturer Woven Bl iss. You can read my experiences with the sling in this article.

Information about the sling and first impression

The manufacturer Woven Bliss has not been around for very long (so the research was not easy, since there is currently only the Facebook page as a platform) and yet he has already released several slings. The well-known motifs, as well as the sling with the wings, which I was allowed to test, were already available in different color combinations. The slings are available exclusively through the Facebook page and are very limited, that is, only available in very limited numbers. The baby sling Whispering Wings was released on October 17, 2016.

The sling, which I was allowed to test, is made of 100% cotton and has a higher basis weight (exact details can not be found) than many other slings, which I have already tied. This makes it seem a bit stiff at first, but also stable. Cotton as a material is very easy to clean and robust. Price-wise, the slings are in the middle range. A cloth in Gr.6 usually costs 110£, which is the equivalent of 124€. The motif consists, as the name suggests, of feathers. Here decorate the entire cloth squiggled feathers in different sizes. The colors are kept very simple with gray and white, just a whisper. The fabric is pleasant to the touch and does not seem to be susceptible to thread pulls.

When worn

I have tried the sling with different tying methods with my son and also the dolls from my carrying consultations. With the little dolls, I noticed a lot of sling material bunching up in the back of the knees, which is due to the thickness of the sling. Also, the tightening itself was much more difficult with the low weight (3000 to 3500g), than with my son. Therefore, the sling would not be my first choice for newborns or small babies.

With my son, however, who weighs 12kg, the tightening went much better and I found the sling very supportive in all tested tying methods(Single Backpack, Wrap Cross Carry and Double Hammock). I did not experience any neck tension when wearing the sling for extended periods of time, even in single-layer tying methods such as the Single Backpack with Tibetan closure. However, I prefer tying methods on my back, as my muscles are stronger there. The Double Hammock was a little better in terms of comfort, but was also more difficult to tie due to the thickness of the cloth.

Washing

Since this is a test sling, I did not wash it. However, because of the material, washing should not be a problem because cotton is extremely easy to care for.

Conclusion

The sling is perfect for larger and heavier children. For newborns, I would prefer another sling with a lower basis weight. The price-performance ratio is good overall. I also could not find any qualitative defects.
