My pregnancy [7th month]

Dear Reader, This blog series is written in the present tense. This is because I wrote these articles monthly during my pregnancy as a kind of diary. In the meantime, my pregnancy is already over and I am gathering strength again in the postpartum period. During this time, this blog series should accompany you. And now I hope you enjoy reading!

Honestly, I had forgotten to write this pregnancy diary and so it is not so easy for me to remember it. Now I'm annoyed that I didn't do it earlier, but that's the way it is.

Anyway, in the seventh month of pregnancy I have my first check-up with the midwife in Bremen, who is supposed to be there for the birth. My husband and also my son come with me to the appointment and I am very happy about not having to drive the route alone. I just don't like to drive unknown routes alone, at least not through bigger cities.

Over Easter we are going to Hesse to my parents and it is nice to be there again before the birth. After that, it wouldn't work for a long time. There is a lot of hustle and bustle over that time because my uncle and his girlfriend are also there. Also my aunt stays overnight with her family another night with my dad. So the house is pretty full, but it's also really nice to see most of the family together again.

My belly is growing more and more and I can't carry my son in front of my belly for a longer period of time. However, carrying him on my back is still very comfortable and I can easily assess the pressure on my pelvic floor. However, I'm starting to realize that I prefer either an onbu, which is a carrier without a belly strap, or a back-binding style with a sling that I tie over my belly.

During the appointment with the midwife in Bremen, she not only does the prenatal care, but we also talk calmly about the birth of my son Noah. She takes a lot of time for this, shows understanding and is incredibly empathetic. I can tell that it's a good fit with her and I'm happy with the decision. In the end, I didn't have much choice in terms of a midwife for a home birth and I'm relieved that we're on the same wavelength. For the on-call birth, she alternates with a team partner and so I have a 50% chance that she would be with me.

I continue to do yoga in my 7th month and the classes for me and my baby are doing me good. I feel alive and have lots of energy. The yoga is good to be able to calm down a bit as well. Still no problems with the kidneys occur and I think that this is definitely also related to the targeted yoga exercises.
